About a month ago I decided that I wanted to take part in a 100 days’ challenge. It felt like everyone on Instagram was doing one of these challenges but I had no idea what I wanted to do it on. I love everything to do with art and design and so that narrowed it down…well slightly! Eventually I decided it must be either surface pattern design which I just adore or my new-found hobby of Lino printing. Being the extremely indecisive person that I am I couldn’t decide (I am the kind of person that would have both tomato and brown sauce on the same plate…) so I decided to combine them resulting in my 100 days of lino print patterns!
I have very much enjoyed my 100 days on Lino Print challenge on Instagram so far! However, because I didn’t have much lino printing experience beforehand, I had so much to learn along the way including simple things such as:
What lino should I use and where can I buy it?
What Ink should I use for paper vs fabric?
How do I covert these to digital artwork?
I still have lots to learn as I continue through my challenge and so I thought it would be a fun idea to share with you the tips and tricks I have learned so far as well as anything new I learn in the future!
My first Lino post is going to be about my experience of using different lino sheets and what works best for me!
I would love to hear of your experiences of Lino printing, starting a new hobby or challenge!
